Comrade Onyebuchi Eze, the newly elected Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN), has pledged to provide responsive leadership.

He said the forum under his watch would serve as a watchdog on government policies and speak out whenever necessary.

Eze, who is also the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), made this known in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

NAN reports that Eze, who previously served as Co-Chairman of the forum, defeated Olajide Wolimoh of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in a keenly contested election held on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Abuja.

The election was supervised by Hon. Chigozie Udogu of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who served as the Forum’s Electoral Chairman.

It was also witnessed by representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing, led by Dayo Israel.

Eze said his leadership would not be used as a tool of the ruling party or as an attack dog against the opposition, stressing that it would remain focused on defending the interests of Nigerian youths.

According to the official results, Eze secured seven votes, while Wolimoh garnered four out of 11 valid ballots cast.

Other elected officers include Muhammad Abdullahi of the Accord Party as Vice Chairman, Amina Yahaya of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as Legal Adviser, and Ugoh Michael of the Action Peoples Party (APP) as Treasurer. (NAN)
