Former Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof is on the verge of sealing a return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa closing in on his signature.
The 31-year-old, released by United earlier this summer after eight years at Old Trafford, is undergoing a medical ahead of signing a two-year deal with Unai Emery’s side, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Lindelof, who had been training with boyhood club Vasteras SK in Sweden while weighing up options, attracted interest from Fiorentina, Bayer Leverkusen and Everton.
However, Villa’s financial package and European ambitions proved decisive.
