Former Clerk of the Lagos State  House of Assembly, Olalekan Onafeko was on Wednesday turned back from resuming as the clerk of the House.

Onafeko, was placed on indefinite suspension  by the House after the former Speaker of the House Hon. Mudashiru Obasa was removed and replaced with Rt Hon. Mojisola Meranda.

Relying on the Industrial Court pronouncement that the status quo in the Assembly remained until the Court determines the suit brought before it by the former clerk of the House, saw Onafeko alongside his lawyer, Nurudeen Yusuf storm the Assembly Complex to effect the court order which reportedly reinstated him.

However, Onafeko could not enforce the court verdict. The assembly legal team and his lawyer merely argued over the ruling that the issue of status quo mentioned by the court and what it meant.

He later left with his lawyer, Yusuf who, however, told journalists that the court order could not be effected because the present Clerk, Taiwo Otun was not on his seat and his office was locked.

On his next step, he said he would come back with his client and if his client (Onafeko) was not allowed to take over as the Clerk of the House, they would file a contempt charge against the state assembly and the current clerk.
