Ex-Imo Firstlady, Nneoma Rochas, inaugurates women structure for empowerment, mentorship

Former First Lady of Imo State, Dr. Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, has inaugurated the Nneoma Women, Imo state Chapter, as a hub of empowerment, mentorship, and transformation across the state.

In her welcome address during the virtual inauguration and commissioning, which drew participation from members of Nneoma Women across the state, Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), technical team, and partners, among others, the former first lady described the inauguration as “the planting of a seed that will grow into a tree of impact, shelter, and empowerment for countless women across Imo state and beyond.”

She stressed that the movement was not about titles or positions but about creating a platform for women to rise together, support one another, and drive generational change.

Dr. Nneoma Rochas, who is also the founder and CEO of WODDI, noted that the historic event was to empower the leadership of the state chapter to mobilise women, build structures of mentorship, and uphold the values of dignity, service, and purpose-driven leadership.

“When you raise a woman, you lift a family. When you empower women in communities, you lay the foundation for national and international transformation,” she stated.

The former first lady admonished members not to see the event as a mere ceremony but as the beginning of a movement that will transform families, communities, and the nation.

Members of the Imo state chapter, led by the State Administrator, Nneoma Theresa Ohanuba, made a collective affirmation, pledging to uphold the vision and values of the Nneoma Women.

On his part, Pastor Simon Asemota dedicated the chapter in prayer, formally sealing the inauguration with spiritual commitment.

In a goodwill message, a member of the WODDI Technical Team, Dr. Tunji Asaolu, emphasized the significance of the inauguration and offering an inspiring charge to the participants.

The historic event had in  attendance by a former member of the Benue House of Assembly and member WODDI Technical Team, Rt. Hon. Ngunan Addingi.
