The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the Freedom of Information (FOI) matter brought before it by Bob Majiri Oghene Etemiku in February 2025, to February 2026.
In a judgement of May 8, 2025, the Federal High Court gave judgment in favour of the applicant against the respondents, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau.
It adjourned to July 22, 2025 for an update on the response of the NFF.
Recall that on February 18, 2025, the applicant, Bob Majiri Oghene Etemiku, filed an order of mandamus at the Federal High Court to compel the NFF and Ibrahim Gusau to furnish the applicant with the contract of the employment of Eric Chelle as Super Eagles’ coach.
“Even though the court has ordered the NFF to release the Eric Chelle contract, the NFF has been adamant. We are disappointed at these adjournments. But, we believe that our case is strong and we will prevail in the end,” counsel to applicant, Benjamin S. Kargbo said.
