Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has ruled the Reds out of the Premier League title race.

Hamann has advised Arne Slot’s side to concentrate instead on securing a top-four finish.

The defending champions have already lost eight of their 11 matches across all competitions. Their 3–0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend left Liverpool in 12th place, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.

“I think now it’s over in the title race, I think they’ve got a fight on their hands to finish in the top four,” Hamann told Tribal Football.

“Obviously, they’ve got other issues to think about than the league table at the moment.

“But I think they’ve got a huge fight on their hands to finish in the top four.”
