EPL: Micah Richards pinpoints Arsenal’s major mistake after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Man City

Former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards has pinpointed Arsenal’s major mistake following Liverpool’s Premier League 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal failed to win their game at the weekend as they were defeated 1-0 against West Ham United at Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool, on the other hand, took all three points against City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Reds are now 11 points ahead of Arsenal on the Premier League table.

However, Richards believes the Gunners will be ‘kicking themselves’ for failing to strengthen manager Mikel Arteta’s squad during the January transfer window after Liverpool defeated Pep Guardiola’s side to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

“I think if Arsenal had a fully fit squad then maybe but no [Bukayo] Saka, losing [Kai] Havertz… they just don’t have anyone up top,” Richards told Sky Sports.

“Arsenal will probably be kicking themselves that they didn’t bring anyone in in January, of course you don’t know you’re going to get injuries.

“But I just think this Liverpool team can adapt. They played heavy metal football and they go back to playing a low block and counter-attack.

“Everything about this team is just sensational. It’s finding a way to win.

“I don’t think Liverpool have been scintillating at times this season, I don’t. But I think they have managed their moments really well.”
