Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand says he has never seen a Red Devils team play as badly as they played in their 2-2 draw with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Ferdinand made the bold claim after watching his former team’s 2-2 draw vs Everton.
The Englishman labeled United as ’embarrassing’, accusing the players of showing a lack of desire during the game.
United had an extremely poor start to the game at Goodison Park with Beto netting the opener in the 19th minute and Abdoulaye Doucoure making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.
However, the Red Devils salvaged a point via a Bruno Fernandes’ 72nd minute free-kick and Ugarte’s volley in the 80th minute.
Ferdinand, via Metro, was left fuming by the Red Devils’ performance.
“I’m sitting here and I don’t know if I have seen a United team play this badly. It has been embarrassing in all different facets of the game.
“Yes, we can talk about quality, you talk about talent, but one thing which is unforgiveable is a lack of desire. There’s instances in this game where Man Utd need to look at this Everton team and take examples from it. It’s embarrassing to sit here and watch it.”
Manchester United recorded 62 percent possession but could only record nine shots, six of which were off-target.
Everton fired nine shots too with eight being on target (with a superior xG of 1.91 compared to United’s 0.41), as per FotMob.
The Red Devils kept their 15th position in the league table with 30 points from 26 games and will face next feature against Ipswich Town.
