Manchester City survived a late onslaught from Fulham to seal a dramatic 5–4 Premier League victory at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
City looked to be cruising after racing to a 4–0 lead, with goals from Erling Haaland (17′), Tijjani Reijnders (37′), and a Phil Foden brace (44′, 48′). A Sander Berge own goal (54′) made it five for the champions.
But Fulham mounted an extraordinary fightback.
Emile Smith Rowe pulled one back in first-half added time (45+2’), before Alex Iwobi struck in the 57th minute to spark real hope.
The comeback truly ignited when substitute Samuel Chukwueze delivered a sensational second-half brace (72′, 78′), bringing the score to 5–4 and sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
Fulham pushed hard for an equaliser, forcing City into frantic late defending, but Pep Guardiola’s side held on to claim the win and stay firmly in the title race.
City substitute Ryan Cherki received the only yellow card of the match in the 94th minute of eight added minutes.
Fulham, despite the defeat, will take pride in a spirited performance led by their Nigerian duo, Iwobi and Chukwueze, whose contributions nearly turned the match on its head.
