Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has died.
Ezea, a first-term senator elected on the platform of the Labour Party, was until his death a member of the 10th Senate.
His passing was confirmed on Tuesday by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central), who announced the news in an emotional tribute posted on her official social media platforms.
“Rest in peace, Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea. You were a good man — wise and gentle,” she wrote.
“Your prayers kept me going through my darkest moments, and I will miss you in chambers.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan extended her condolences to the people of Enugu North, noting that Kogi Central “honors your senator and mourns with you.”
Details surrounding the cause of his death were yet to be made public at press time.
