Enugu: Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested, Incriminating Exhibits Recovered By Police

Enugu State Police Command have arrested two armed robbery suspects.Chime Valentine Chidiebere, 25, and Alior Jideofor Kenechukwu, 30.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, said arrests were made possible by credible intelligence gathered by the police.

He said “On February 6, 2025, the operatives swooped in and arrested the suspects, recovering a Daylong motorcycle they had snatched from their victim. Additionally, three locally fabricated guns with two live cartridges were seized. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had committed the robbery on January 5, 2025, in Udi LGA.

“The suspects had boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo, where they stopped, shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with the motorcycle.

“However, the police were hot on their heels, leveraging intelligence to track down the suspects and recover the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and ammunition.

“The victim is currently receiving treatment for the gunshot injury. Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspects’ accomplices who are still at large. Once the investigation is concluded, the suspects will be arraigned in court,” he said

He commended the operatives for their tireless efforts in combating crime in Enugu State.

He urged residents to continue supporting the police by providing credible information, emphasizing that this support is crucial in sustaining the tempo of combating crime.
