Harmanpreet Singh scored both India's goals as their men's hockey team beat England 2-1 in the FIH Pro League on Tuesday.
Captain Singh gave the hosts, ranked fifth in the world, a 26th-minute lead at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
And although Conor Williamson equalised on the half-hour mark for world number three-ranked England, Singh struck again three minutes later to clinch victory.
That sent India to third in the Pro League table while England, who went top of the table after beating India 3-2 on Monday, remain above Belgium on goal difference.
England also had two games with Spain in Bhubaneswar, winning 1-0 in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw, before losing 4-1.
Tuesday's match was the last of the Pro League's Indian series, which also featured four games for England's women's team.
They lost 3-2 to India before beating the hosts 2-1 in a shootout after a 2-2 draw. England were then beaten 5-1 and 6-0 last weekend by the Netherlands, the world number one and league leaders.
With all nine teams having played eight games, England are bottom of the women's table with five points.
The Pro League continues in June, with England's men playing Germany, the Netherlands and Australia in London. England's women's team will host Argentina, Australia and Spain.
