The Emir of Zuru, General Muhammad Sani Sami (Rtd), has warned that politicians who have neglected the Zuru Emirate will face the people’s anger and dismay in the 2027 general election.
The Emir also described the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Zainab Nasir Idris, as a blessing to the women and people of Zuru, as well as the entire state.
His recognition of the First Lady comes in light of her remarkable contributions, alongside Governor Nasir Idris, in advancing the state’s development.
The Emir made these remarks when the First Lady and her entourage paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Zuru Town.
He commended her unprecedented efforts in the history of Kebbi State, particularly her commitment to improving the well-being of women.
The Emir also praised Governor Nasir Idris for his clear vision, policy direction, and development blueprint, which have led to significant infrastructural, social, and economic growth in the state. He acknowledged the Governor’s strides in addressing security challenges in Kebbi South, enabling farmers to cultivate their land without fear.
Pledging his political support and that of his people, the Emir expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership and his potential re-election.
Additionally, he commended the Governor for his efforts to complete and rehabilitate the Koko-Dabai road.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed gratitude to the Emir and the people of Zuru for their support and loyalty to her husband’s administration.
She stated that her visit was to personally thank the Emir for honoring her with the traditional title of Jagaban Matan Zuru.
She also highlighted her agricultural empowerment program, which aims to support women farmers with rice seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides, and other resources to enhance their productivity and overall well-being.
