Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, will attend U.S. President Donald Trump’s first official cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
This was disclosed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday.
“He is,” Leavitt told CNN’s Jeff Zeleny when asked whether Musk would be attending Trump’s first cabinet meeting.
“Elon, considering he is working alongside the president and our cabinet secretaries, as well as this entire administration, will be in attendance tomorrow,” Leavitt added.
Leavitt said Musk would be discussing DOGE’s efforts and “how all the cabinet secretaries are identifying waste, fraud, and abuse” within their agencies.
“I think you will be hearing from the president and his cabinet when they are on campus tomorrow.
“I hope you guys are excited,” the press secretary concluded.
Recall that Trump signed an Executive Order establishing DOGE in January.
Trump mandated Musk and DOGE to modernise federal technology and software to maximise governmental efficiency and productivity in agencies across the United States.
