Eighth Day Fidau Prayer To Hold Today


The eighth-day fidau (prayers) for the late former Super Eagles winger Lookman Ajibola Oshun will hold on Tuesday (today) in Ishaga, Lagos.

The Fidau prayer is a Muslim tradition, specifically an eighth-day prayer service, held after the burial of a deceased person to offer prayers for the forgiveness of their sins and to seek blessings for their afterlife.

According to the funeral programme released by his family, the prayer will hold at the Event Place, Agbado, Lagos. It will commence at 12pm.

Several ex-internationals, and family members are expected to pay their last respect to him.

The late Oshun passed away on Monday, 11 August due to a prolonged illness, and was buried on Tuesday, 12 August , according to Islamic rites.

Oshun is survived by his wife and four children.

During his active days, he played for Stationary Stores and First Bank FC. He also featured for the Nigerian national team, known then as the Green Eagles.

The former winger later delved into coaching, and handled various clubs including First Bank FC and Smart City FC of Lagos.
