Eid-el-Kabir: Let’s be compassionate in our dealings, says Atiku
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has
encouraged Nigerians especially those in positions of authority to imbibe the
culture of compassion, love and sacrifice which are the lessons taught by
Prophet Ibrahim.
He made this call in his Sallah message while congratulating
fellow Muslim faithful on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival,
which he described as “a celebration of God’s love and mercy to mankind.”
This was contained in a statement by his Media Office, in
Abuja, on Saturday.
The former Vice President, who is also the Waziri Adamawa
noted that the celebration of Eid, as stated in the scriptures, is not merely a
fanfare but an admonition to the people to have forbearance and show compassion
in every situation.
