The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially dissociated itself from the actions of Olakunle Alex Folarin, a former staff member who recently appeared on a social media matchmaking program hosted by entertainer Lege Miami.
Folarin’s participation on Lege Miami’s TikTok live dating platform drew widespread attention after viewers identified him as an EFCC officer, sparking public queries directed at the anti-graft agency.
In response, the EFCC, through a statement shared on its official X handle on Monday, clarified that Folarin is no longer employed by the Commission, having been dismissed for certificate forgery.

The statement further noted that the agency has ordered Folarin’s arrest for unlawfully retaining EFCC property, including an official identity card, which he failed to surrender following his dismissal.
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, condemned in the strongest terms, the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami social media platforms,” the statement read.
“Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC. The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered his arrest for being in possession of some Commission’s properties, including an Identity Card, which he should have handed over upon being dismissed from the EFCC. The public is advised against associating Folarin’s post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC.”
