Arsenal are looking to improve their attacking unit with the signing of Nico Williams this summer.

According to Football London, sporting director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta are keen on signing the 21-year-old La Liga winger. Williams has a €50 million release clause in his contract and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal are willing to trigger his exit clause this summer.

He has had an impressive season scoring eight goals and picking up 17 assists in all competitions. The Spanish winger is capable of operating on both flanks and he can slot in as the centre forward as well.

He would be the ideal attacking option for Arsenal next season. The Gunners are looking to bring in a dynamic forward who will add more quality and depth through their front three. Williams is capable of operating anywhere across the front three and his arrival would allow Arteta to rest players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli more often.

Nico Williams to Arsenal?

Nico Williams might fancy Arsenal switch

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be an exciting one for the young attacker and a move to Arsenal would be a major step up in his career. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they could help him compete for major trophies.

Arsenal have missed out on the league title in the last two seasons and they will be hoping to go all the way this time around. They need better players at their disposal and more depth in the squad in order to truly compete with Manchester City. Signing Williams will certainly add more cutting edge to their attacking unit.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will have to improve the other areas of their squad as well, and it remains to be seen whether they can afford to pay the Spaniard’s release clause this summer.
