The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of confidence in the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, applauding his “steadfast leadership, dedication, and remarkable efforts” in repositioning the party and driving development in the state.
The party also extended the confidence vote to the State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, and the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah described their contributions as vital to the stability and progress of the APC in Edo State.
Naija News reports that the development followed a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party held over the weekend, where members deliberated on key issues affecting the cohesion and smooth running of the APC across the state.
In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the SWC reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, fairness, and collective progress.
“A vote of implicit confidence was unanimously passed on the Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo; the State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe; and the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, for their steadfast leadership, dedication, and remarkable efforts in repositioning the party and advancing the progress of Edo State,” the statement read.
The SWC also reviewed disciplinary cases involving some party members. It announced the lifting of the suspension placed on Hon. Valentine Asue and Stella Ogbetta, the Woman Leader of Oredo Ward 10.
However, the committee noted that the suspension of Mallam Adamu Ototobor, the Ward 9 Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area, remains in force pending further review.
“The suspension of Ward 9 Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area, Mallam Adamu Ototobor, remains in force until further notice,” the statement added.
The Edo APC urged all its members across wards and local governments to remain law-abiding, loyal, and committed to the principles of the party, while embracing unity and discipline.
“The SWC advises all members to remain law-abiding and committed to the principles and discipline of the party pending further directives,” the statement read.
The party leadership stressed that collective action and unity were essential for the APC’s continued growth and success ahead of future elections.
“The State Working Committee reaffirms its commitment to fairness, internal democracy, and the overall stability of the party across all levels in Edo State. It further calls on all members to continue to work collectively towards strengthening the APC as a united political family,” the statement concluded.
