The just concluded football tournament organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council witnessed full dose of flair with the multiple donations by the Chairman of Benue State Football Association (BSFA), Chief Dr. Paul Edeh Esq.
Chief Edeh who was at the Grand Finale of the competition decided inside Area 3 Playground Abuja on Saturday, donated large quantities of Medals, Balls and Trophy to Abuja Journalists.
The legal expert turned renowned football administrator while reflecting on the essence of the tournament noted that his desire is to see the round leather game thrive in all ramifications.
He said, “I’m driven by increased passion to always contribute my quota in advancing football development in all strata of the society. The football tournament which Journalists in Abuja deplored for their Sports week is laudable.
“The NUJ FCT Council Sports Week Committee led by the immediate past Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ndubueze Chidoka, has done a good job in organising this tournament.
“I urge the participants, particularly the Journalists to keep the fire burning. Football is great a tool for self development and it’s accessible to all for the purpose of keeping fit and other benefits.”
Chief Edeh who is the only Nigerian that founded two Women Clubs – Naija Ratels and Honey Badgers featuring at the top Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), assured of his readiness to continuously identify with the revered Media Practitioners in the country for all round development.
The BSFA Chairman on Sunday proceeded to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church Aliade where he attended a Special Thanksgiving Service put together in honour of the daughter of Prof. Tor Joe Iorapuu – Vice Chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio University, Makurdi, formerly Benue State University (BSU).
Sr. Sharon Mwuese Iorapuu, the VC’s daughter was ordained as Reverend Sister in the Roman Catholic Church on August 9, 2025.
Chief Edeh who joined Parishioners and Special Guests in Aliade, said like his father, he was confident that the daughter of Prof. Iorapuu will his parents, community, church and the entire society proud.
The church service coincided with the kick-off day for 2025 Benue FA Chairman’s Cup in Makurdi, a competition which will be competed for in all Local Government Areas of the State.
