Ebonyi Police Arrest Three Over Killing Of Youth Leader


The Ebonyi State Police Command has taken three individuals into custody in connection with the killing of youth leader Udu Uzor in Ekoli Edda community, Edda Local Government Area.

According to PUNCH Metro, the community was shaken by a crisis two months ago that claimed multiple lives, including the youth leader’s, and caused extensive property destruction.

Reports indicate that some of the suspects were apprehended while trying to flee to Abia State by vehicle.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, confirmed the arrests to reporters at the command headquarters in Abakaliki on Wednesday.

She said, “Following the Ekoli Edda crisis, which led to the murder of Udu Nnachi on July 9, 2025, painstaking investigations by operatives attached to SWAT led to the arrest of Amarachi Ude, Idika Ama Okoro, and Sunday Ama Olughu.

“The suspects will be arraigned upon conclusion of investigations.”

The CP pledged that the command would carry out a comprehensive investigation and promptly prosecute those responsible, aiming to bring peace back to the community.
