The increment is real, and civil servants should expect to see the effect in their next pay,” he assured.

He further disclosed that the state government had already cleared pensions and gratuities of retirees dating back to 1996.

“The verification process for retirees in the Local Government Areas has commenced, and once completed, payments will be made without delay,” he said.

Emphasizing the administration’s commitment, Omebe added: “If this government did not play politics with such huge financial obligations, it will not do so with an additional ₦20,000 for workers.

“The governor is a leader, builder of capacity, human beings and infrastructure.”

Highlighting the government’s guiding philosophy, he noted, “Our administration is anchored on the biblical people’s charter of needs mantra, which means we lead according to the people’s needs, not political convenience.”

The commissioner also revealed that the EXCO approved the implementation of the eight-year tenure policy for directors and the retirement of those who have exhausted their time on the same cadre.

“The EXCO exhaustively deliberated on the issue and approved its immediate implementation for the affected permanent secretaries and directors,” he stated.
