Ikechukwu Mitchel Ogbonna, better known as IK Ogbonna, is a popular Nigerian actor, model, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the Nigerian entertainment business for his role in the film Playing Safe, which costarred Tonto Dikeh and Ini Edo.

Born on January 11, 1984, in Abia State, Nigeria, Ogbonna has worked in a variety of entertainment fields, including acting, modelling, and television presenting.

His ability to adapt between these roles has garnered him a sizable following, establishing him as one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces.

IK Ogbonna was born on January 11, 1984, in Abia State, Nigeria. He was the second kid in a family of four, with two sisters and a brother.

Ogbonna was from the Igbo ethnic group and was nurtured in a Christian home. Ik completed his basic and secondary school in Lagos State, earning his First Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate, respectively. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Jos in Plateau State.

The actor has earned a Doctorate of Arts in Leadership and Development from the Institut Supérieur De Management et de Technologie (ISMT).

Career

IK Ogbonna’s career in the entertainment sector began in earnest when he was cast in the film “Playing Safe”, which propelled him to prominence.

Since then, he has starred in over 100 Nollywood films, including “Disguise” (2018), “The Washerman” (2018), “Pebbles of Love” (2017), “How Not to Fall in Love” (2015), and “Hustlers” (2014).

Aside from performing, Ogbonna has a successful modelling career and has endorsed various companies, including Dorco Shaving Stick.

He also appeared on the Amstel Malta Box Office television show in 2005, which cemented his presence in the entertainment scene. His versatility as an actor and model has made him a highly sought-after star in Nollywood.

Personal Life

IK Ogbonna was married to a Colombian model, Sonia Morales. In 2015, the couple got married in a courthouse in Zagreb, Serbia. On June 20, 2015, they welcomed a boy named Ace Ogbonna into the world.

He also has a daughter named Makayla from his former relationship with Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim. However, his marriage to Sonia Morales ended in divorce, with sources indicating that the bad living conditions in Nigeria played a key role in their split.
