Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to Ekpeye parents, Uwame grew up in a strict Christian household as the third of six children. Her father, who worked in military medicine, died while she was a child. After her father died, Uwame’s mother reared her in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Uwame has always enjoyed music and was taught to sing by her mother when she was four years old.

After completing her primary and secondary school education in Abuja, Uwame attended the University of Port Harcourt and earned a degree in Theatre Arts. In addition to her academic background, she has owned and maintained a variety of other businesses, including a vehicle leasing firm, a restaurant, a tailor shop, and a beauty salon. She also joined Port Harcourt’s booming music scene, performing in nightclubs and inner-city pubs.

Following the release of the aforementioned album, Muma Gee approached Wudi Awa about producing a music video for the title track single. The climax of the presentation occurred when she hugged, cuddled, and tried a liplock with the winner in public. The young male admirer was also treated to a love ballad, which she shouted out before finishing her act with her hit song “Kade”.

By the end of 2007, she had hinted that she was working on new material for her upcoming album. The next year, on May 18, 2008, “Amebo” was announced as the album’s first single.
