Ken Erics Biography

Ken Erics was born in Kano State, northwest Nigeria, in 1985. He is from Enugu State. He is the sixth of seven children born to Eric Chukwuemeka Nwenweh and Grace Ifeyinwa Nwenweh, although he is originally from Anambra State.
Since his boyhood in Kano, he has demonstrated his tremendous talents. Before leaving Kano for Onitsha, he was the best in his primary school class.
Ken Erics, a talented actor, attended Binta Mustapha Science Nursery and Primary School in Kano for his primary schooling and Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) in Onitsha, Anambra State for his secondary.
He was admitted to the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, and graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts. Ken has a master’s degree in theatre and film studies.
Career
Eric received his first film part as a first-year university student in the Chris Ubani-directed direct-to-DVD film Holy Prostitute in 2001, playing a modest role as a medical doctor in only three scenes. He went on to graduate from university, attend auditions, and land a couple more cameo appearances in home films.
However, his performance as Ugo in the 2012 film The Illiterate won over moviegoers and led to further opportunities in the Nigerian film business. Eric’s first published piece, Cell 2, received critical acclaim and has been used at a number of Nigerian higher institutions for stage shows and academic reasons.
Eric, an occasional vocalist and musician who plays the guitar and keyboard, has worked on some original movie soundtracks after formerly running his own musical band.
He has also appeared alongside notable movie performers such as Ngozi Ezeonu, Yul Edochie, Desmond Elliot, Chiwetalu Agu, Regina Daniels, and others.
Eric earned Best Supporting Actor at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014 and Best Lead Actor at the Afrifimo Awards in the United States. In 2015, he won the Best Lead Actor award at the City People Entertainment Awards.
Eric received the City People Entertainment Award for Best Actor of the Year in 2017 and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Movie Awards in 2018. Eric’s debut music song, “Inozikwa Omee”, received favourable feedback from some of his followers in December 2018.
