dRPC’s NGO Support Initiative Call for Application – Daily Trust


The Development Research and Project Centre, dRPC, under its NGO Support Initiative has opened the second phase of the the call for application.

On May 5, we issued a call for applications to local NGOs in Nigeria that had to cancel high-impact activities since January 2025 due to recent funding cuts. We received 594 applications, of which 139 were valid.

Following a rigorous selection process, the following organizations were selected: Webfala Digital Skills for All Initiative, GEPaDC, Visionary Women in Agricultural Development in Africa, Rising Hope Girls Educational Foundation, Blue Sapphire Hub Foundation, Unique Royal Sisters, Federal Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, International Centre for Reporting, RAHAMA, Resonat Spei Humanitarian Hub Foundation, Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization, Headfort Foundation for Justice, Heal the Youth Foundation, BAOBAB, NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women, Family Life and Community Health Society, and SkillHer. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST GUIDELINES

  1. Description of the activity with objectives and beneficiaries by numbers, demographic composition, and location
  2. Evidence that the activity was approved previously but cancelled due to funding cuts
  3. An updated 3-month work plan
  4. Monitoring and evaluation plan
  5. Budget with lines on personnel, direct, M&E, indirect 5%
  6. Profile of the NGO with evidence of registration and information on updated CAC and tax compliance status
  7. A functional website and social media presence would be an added advantage

Successful NGOs are required to participate in a 4-module virtual training programme on:

  • Project management;
  • Evidence-informed advocacy;
  • Financial accountability and compliance; and
  • Social behavioral change communication.

High-performing NGOs which excel in this grant will be recommended to social impact investors for scale-up and sustainability support.

APPLICATION ROUNDS

Applications open on 20th August 2025 for Round 2, which closes on 3rd September 2025. All Round 2 grants must close out and final reports must be submitted on or before November 31st, 2025. All applications will be acknowledged, and we will endeavor to provide feedback to all applicants.

Applications will be assessed based on their potential to impact positively on the lives of women and girls, particularly through policy change and/or the provision of infrastructure, strengthening of systems, and shifting of social norms and behaviours. Capacity for NGOs to scale up and become future leaders in the field will also be considered.
