The Dr Kester Awani Foundation has graduated 68 beneficiaries from the second edition of its flagship skills acquisition program, the Empowered to Empower Initiative (E2E). The annual initiative, first held in 2024, is designed to equip individuals with practical, income-generating skills.
This year’s training attracted 125 registrants, but only 68 completed the program, underscoring its rigorous nature. Graduates were trained in baking, photography, saxophone, nail technology, drawing, wig making, and drumming, under the guidance of volunteer mentors.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the founder, Dr Kester Awani, said the program was conceived out of his passion to empower people in areas they are passionate about. He added that beneficiaries are expected to extend the impact by training others, in line with the Foundation’s philosophy of “empowered to empower.”
The Foundation’s Secretary General, Miss Ogechi Nduka, highlighted her personal commitment to empowerment and social impact. She reiterated the Foundation’s drive to touch lives across Nigeria through its various programs, including Educate 365 and 60 Seconds with Dr. Kester Awani.
Organizers noted that donor support is essential to expanding the reach of the scheme to more indigent persons. The Foundation is currently seeking partners and well-meaning individuals to assist in scaling the initiative. Interested donors can contact the Foundation via [email protected]
