Nigerian actress and media personality Doyin Kukoyi has spoken out about the long-standing speculation linking her to a secret marriage with veteran actor Taiwo Hassan.
The rumours first surfaced in 2022 after a photo of the two actors taken on a movie set went viral.
The viral image showed Kukoyi and Ogogo in coordinated traditional outfits, with the actor seemingly planting a kiss on her cheek.

Kukoyi added to the speculation by captioning the Instagram post with affectionate love emojis, jokingly describing it as her “crazy self.”
The image rapidly went viral, with a blogger fueling the speculation by implying that Kukoyi was announcing Ogogo as her husband and claiming the position of his third wife.
The allegation gained more traction when comments from other colleagues appeared to “confirm” it, persuading many fans to believe it was true.
However, in a recent Nollywood on Radio podcast interview, Kukoyi clarified that the photo was merely a promotional tactic for a movie in which they played a couple.
The actress shared that she has never been bothered by the ongoing misconception and even found it amusing.
She mentioned that people still approach her on the street asking, “How is your husband?” and she playfully replies, “He is fine.”
“What I have realised is people would talk about things you bring into social media. You do not have power or control over people judgment about you. If you do not bring your story out, nobody is going to talk about you. It is either positive or negative way,” she said.
“The first one, I was on a location with Sir Tee (Ogogo). We played husband and wife, giving out our daughter in marriage. And we took a picture. And my crazy self, I tagged the picture my heart rob.
“And they took it out. And till tomorrow, everybody still feels that I am married to Ogogo. I did that to sell that movie. It was not my movie. And the producer was happy about it.
“Till tomorrow, people would still see me on the road and ask me ‘how is your husband?’ I would respond he is fine.
“(I did not correct the misconception) because I put it out there.”
