Nollywood actress Judy Austin has cautioned young women against rushing into marriage, especially due to pregnancy or societal pressure, warning that early marriage has left many people emotionally and mentally scarred.

During a recent TikTok live session, the actress urged her followers to make thoughtful, mature decisions before committing to marriage.

According to her, many young women enter relationships they are not mentally ready for, leading to regret and lifelong struggles.

Judy Austin stressed the importance of self-development and emotional maturity before settling down, noting that individuals must understand themselves and their partners before taking such a serious step.

The actress went on to lament how early marriages have damaged a lot of people, adding that many individuals are burdened with responsibilities they were not prepared for.

She said “The first question you should ask yourself is, Can I spend the rest of my life with this guy? The way this guy is behaving, will I be able to love him, be committed to him, grow with him, and yield with him? You can’t make that decision if you’re still a child.

You can’t make that decision if you’re not mentally ready for that kind of relationship Date people, learn people, understand that you can’t trust anybody except yourself and God. You need to show up for yourself before you expect anyone else to show up for you. So many people are damaged today because of early marriage. So many people have baggage because of it. So many are divorced or struggling to take care of children they weren’t ready for”

Judy Austin concluded by encouraging her fans to focus on growth, prayer, and preparation before marriage to avoid regrets in the future.
