Outgoing Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has advised incoming Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo to prioritize security above politics, emphasizing that neglecting security will lead to problems.
Obaseki shared these words of wisdom during a security meeting with state security agency heads in Benin.
“My advice to the incoming administration is to take security seriously and never prioritize politics over security because there will be problems as citizens need to demand a secure environment,” Obaseki stated.
He attributed his administration’s success in improving security to collaboration with security agencies, noting that together, they changed the narrative about security in the state.
