Christantus Uche got 11 minutes of action in Crystal Palace’s goalless draw against Sunderland on Saturday…
Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner has praised Super Eagles star Christantus Uche for his performance in their goalless draw against Sunderland at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Uche completed his transfer to the Eagles on transfer deadline day. And despite his involvement with Nigeria in the international break, he made Crystal Palace’s matchday squad for the game against newly-promoted Sunderland on Saturday.
The Super Eagles star did not start, but he was introduced into the game in the 84th minute, when the Eagles desperately needed a winning goal.

Uche’s introduction was chaotic for the Black Cats, as Crystal Palace’s attack started to look sharper and more dangerous.
In fact, in the 11 minutes Uche was on the pitch, Crystal Palace had as many shots on target as they managed in the previous 84 minutes without him.
What Oliver Glasner Said About Christantus Uche
Despite their draw, Palace boss Glasner expressed satisfaction with Uche’s performance and even noted that the Super Eagles star could have easily won a penalty.

“It was the same with Uche at the end, I thought he could help us in having a little bit more physicality in our attack. He was great, he had a big chance as well. I think we could have got a penalty in this situation,” Glasner said.
Since completing his transfer to Crystal Palace, Uche has not had a lot of time with his new teammates.

But now, he has a week to work with them and get used to Glasner’s setup. With what he showed against Sunderland, there’s a good chance that he will soon get a starting shirt.
The Super Eagles star will be hoping to have a big impact on the team and help them go far in the UEFA Conference League.
