Dangote, Tinubu, Social Media Influencers Failed Ruth Otabor – VeryDarkMan

Nigerian social media commentator VeryDarkMan, has criticised key figures and institutions he believes failed Ruth Otabor, sister of former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, who tragically died on Sunday after a road accident involving a Dangote truck.

The Otabor family confirmed her passing through Eko Solicitors & Advocates. Ruth had been receiving medical care for severe injuries sustained in the crash near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.

In reaction to the tragedy, VeryDarkMan accused President Bola Tinubu, the Dangote Group, and influential Nigerians on social media of failing to act when Ruth urgently needed advanced medical support.

In a video on his Instagram page on Sunday, he partly said: “Phyna’s sister has finally kpai, a lot of people are lending their voices to the RIP but when we needed those voices to pressure Dangote to do the right thing, 19 days was what she spent at the hospital but many refused to post because it won’t give them engagement. You bunch are hypocrites, may God forgive your souls. Nigeria has failed us. President Bola Tinubu, you have failed us all. And to Dangote Group, are you happy now? You had the time to take that girl abroad to treat her.”

His comments followed a condolence statement from the Dangote Group, which confirmed that the company and its insurance partners had been covering all medical and financial costs since the accident. They also said arrangements were in place to fly Ruth to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance, but she passed away before it could happen.
