Dahiru Usman-Bauchi’s followers promise to uphold his legacy

Some disciples of the late Islamic scholar, Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, have promised to uphold his legacy by propagating true teachings of Islam.

They described the late scholar as a “beacon of Qur’anic knowledge, honesty, love, and devotion to humanity” in line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him).

A cross-section of the followers said this in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Bauchi.

One of the disciples, Umar Tijjani, said the late scholar left behind a profound legacy of Islamic propagation, exemplary character, and unwavering to spiritual guidance.

He said Usman-Bauchi’s life was rooted in sincerity and service to humanity.

Tijjani urged his colleagues to hold firmly constant recitation of the Qur’an, Hadith (tradition of the prophet), and Azkar (remembrance of Allah).

“Late Usman-Bauchi dedicated his life toward shaping a morally upright society through Islamic education,” he said.

Also, Aliyu Zakirai, described the scholar’s death as a “great loss” not only to Bauchi state, but to the entire Muslim community.

Zakirai stressed the need for Muslims to remain steadfast in their devotion and continue spreading the message of peace and righteousness.

Similarly, Abubakar Ahmed said the late cleric’s humility, generosity and deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence endeared him to people across Nigeria and beyond.

“The late scholar’s teachings transformed many lives and will continue to guide generations yet to come,” he said.

He prayed to Allah to grant the late scholar eternal rest, and the family fortitude to bear the loss.
