Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has doled out N50m to Super Falcons defender, Miracle Usani, reports Completesports.com.
Otu also gifted Usani a plot of land, and an appointment as sports ambassador of the state.
The governor announced the reward at a reception held in honour of the left-back in his office in Calabar.
“Today, I finally met with our star, our very own Miracle on the Pitch, whose exceptional talent, alongside that of other young female players, has brought immense pride and joy to our nation, and most especially to us as a state,” Otu said in a statement on his official Facebook page.
“In recognition of her outstanding achievements and the honour she has brought to Cross River State, I have conferred on Miracle Usani the highest honour accorded to a private citizen, VVIP of the State.

“This status entitles her to all the rights and privileges enjoyed by VVIPs in Cross River, particularly at state events.
“Additionally, I have approved the sum of ₦50 million and the allocation of a piece of land to properly usher her into this Season of Sweetness.
“This is our way of celebrating excellence and inspiring other young people to reach for greatness.”
Usani was part of the Super Falcons squad that won the title at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Edo Queens player made one appearance at the competition.
