The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, has officially resigned from his position, bringing an end to months of tension within the state legislature.
Dajoh announced his resignation in a handwritten letter on SUnday which he also shared on his verified Facebook page.
The letter was captioned, “Let there be peace,” signaling that his decision was aimed at restoring harmony to the House and the state at large.

In the letter, Dajoh explained that the choice to step down was made in the interest of the state and not out of compulsion.
According to him, “I tender my resignation in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”
The Gboko West State Constituency representative further expressed appreciation to his colleagues for trusting him with the mantle of leadership.
He noted that serving as Speaker had been a privilege, describing it as the opportunity to serve as “the first among equals.”
Dajoh assured that despite his resignation as Speaker, he would remain committed to the duties of lawmaking and representing his constituency effectively.
“I will continue to discharge my legislative responsibilities with utmost dedication to the people of Gboko West,” he added.
