The police on Tuesday arraigned a 41-year-old driver, Nurudeen Ogunbona, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly threatening the life of his employer, former federal lawmaker, Mr. Adedapo Lam-Adesina.
Ogunbona, whose residential address was not disclosed in court, is facing a two-count charge bordering on threat to life and breach of public peace. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecuting counsel, Cpl. Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the defendant, in July, allegedly issued death threats to his boss through text messages and voice notes.

Akinloye explained that the complainant, Mr. Lam-Adesina, had represented Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The prosecutor further alleged that Ogunbona conducted himself in a disorderly manner by warning his employer that he would “deal with him,” an act capable of causing a breach of peace. He said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the complainant’s Alalubosa G.R.A. residence in Ibadan.
According to Akinloye, the offences contravene Sections 86 and 249(D) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum. She ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relative of the defendant.
The matter was adjourned until December 8 for hearing.
