The Kaduna Chief Magistrate Court, Kabala Doki, has adjourned the murder case of Ahmed Musa, an SS2 student of Government Technical College Malali, after six suspects appeared before the court on Thursday.
Ahmed Musa was found dead under suspicious circumstances on February 16, 2025, within the school premises. His body was discovered with his hands and legs bound, and a rope tied around his neck. Blood was visible on his mouth and nose. He was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Justice Naheed Ibrahim Abdulhamid ordered that the two principal suspects, Wisdom Markus Kefas, 18, and Innocent Yakubu, 17, both SS2 students of the same school, be remanded in custody. While Kefas was sent to a correctional facility, Yakubu was held in police custody. Their case was adjourned to April 8, 2025.

In addition to the students, four personnel of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS), assigned to provide security at the school, were charged with criminal conspiracy and negligence for failing to prevent or report the incident. The KADVIS personnel charged are Timothy Abba, 56, Joseph Ogoni, 41, Bulus Adamu, 42, and Francis Adamu, 48.

The court granted them bail and scheduled their case for March 17, 2025.

Ahmed Musa’s father, Comrade Musa Mohammed (Moonlight), accused the Kaduna State Government of negligence, arguing that his son’s safety was the government’s responsibility while in school. He demanded that the state government pay ₦560,300,000 as compensation for their failure to protect the student.

The brutal nature of Ahmed Musa’s murder has sparked serious concerns about student safety and the government’s role in protecting children within school premises. The case remains ongoing as authorities continue their investigation.
