Cornerstone Insurance Foundation Partners LFBI To Celebrate Love, Fete Primary Schools’ Pupils In Lagos

LAGOS – Cornerstone Insurance Group through own foundation has taken its corporate social responsibility (CSR) gesture to three public primary schools in Lagos sponsoring their school feeding programme. The schools are Divine Wisdom; Idera Oluwa, Agege and Debby and Frank, all located in Agege of Lagos State.

The initiative, put together to mark the 9th anniversary of the Lagos Food Bank, is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the children in public schools whose parents are considered to be within the lowest income strata of the society.
This milestone marks a significant step in the Cornerstone Insurance’s commitment to aligning itself with the community it is operating and developing more effective, and resilient partnership to aid funding disruptions that threaten access to lives.
At the event held on Wednesday, 12th February, 2025, the underwriting firm noted that the initiative was part of the love to the community that it is operating through the Cornerstone Insurance Foundation.
Representing the company, Mr Charles Nwachukwu, the General Manager, Business Development at Cornerstone Insurance said “As global citizens continue to prioritise capacitating communities to meet their needs, Cornerstone Insurance is committed to working alongside Lagos Food Bank and local partners to ensure seamless integration to strengthen its impact around the communities.”
He asserted that the company chose to take up the sponsorship in this season to show love to the down-trodden noting: “we are happy to be part of the gesture at this season of love which we think the best way to celebrate the season is to celebrate with the needy.”
Mr Nwachukwu re-echoed his company’s edge in its balancesheets and in claims settlement saying: “Cornerstone Insurance is a very solid composite Insurance underwriter with Fin Insurance as its subsidiary majorly in general business portfolio.
We pay claims promptly which is the very reason we are in business as we want to remain a reliable partners to both our existing customers and the prospective ones.” He said.
Ms Cordelia Ekeocha, Head, Corporate Communications at Cornerstone Insurance disclosed that the company, in the past two years, have been embarking on the CSR projects initiatives.
She applauded the Lagos Food Bank for giving the insurer the opportunity to be part of the success story of supporting the needy.

Cornerstone Insurance Plc Foundation (CIPLCF) serves as the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, focusing on initiatives that uplift communities and improve societal well-being. The foundation’s efforts are primarily directed towards health, women empowerment and education.

The Education Enhancement Intervention for Food Insecure Students (EDUFOOD) is a program by the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) aimed at improving the nutritional status and health of food-insecure students in low-cost private primary and secondary schools within underserved communities in Lagos State.
