The Kebbi State Association of Contractors has expressed happiness about the policy thrust of Governor Nasir Idris for patronising local contractors and content, in the execution of key projects in the state.
The association believes that such a trend will facilitate societal development, encourage local talent, save foreign exchange and impact positively on poverty reduction.
Chairman of the association, Chiso Nayaya Ambursa, led other contractors on a courtesy visit to the governor, showering accolades on him for giving them an opportunity to be active stakeholders in the development of Kebbi state.
Your Excellency, no other state in the federation gives recognition to local contractors like you’re doing.
“We’re happy with you for giving us a sense of belonging and we reaffirm our support to you.
“Our members have decided to procure five ipads for each of the 21 local government areas of the state to record and publicise all projects executed by incumbent administration to counter insinuations by the opposition for frivolous non-performance,” Chiso stated.
In response, Governor Nasir Idris, pledged to reappraise all outstanding indebtedness to contractors inherited from previous administrations and do the needful.
