Prospective Corp Members (PCMs) are currently facing issues receiving confirmation links via their email accounts for the NYSC registration. The issue has been attributed to a technical glitch in the biometric capturing experienced by cyber cafe operators.
As always, the first day of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration has been marred by a series of issues. While thousands of PCMs have waited for months to register for the one-year service year, the opportunity is currently being marred by stalls in email verification links and biometric capturing.
According to a source close to the NYSC, @NYSC360, the CBO Centre is experiencing issues with capturing data, thereby causing delays to the roll-out of verification emails. The CBO centre is the control session that approves the biometric capture of applicants. The issue is also believed to be directly from the NYSC system.
“The CBO Centre is currently experiencing some issues with capturing data. As a result, some PCMs are not receiving emails. We trust that management will address these portal-related concerns promptly,” the source stated via an X (formerly Twitter) post.
For PCMs registering for the 2025 Batch B Stream 2, the situation presents a frustrating nostalgia, yet it is expected, considering past occasions where applicants experienced portal downtime and other related issues. While the registration, which commenced today, is expected to end on September 13, registering early is crucial to avoid an unexpected portal closure.

The email verification is crucial in the registration process, without which PCMs cannot proceed to the next stage of biometric capturing. A series of PCMs have also expressed their disastrous situation on the social media platform X,
An applicant @bnfaruk01 said: “Omo the verification mail is taking forever 🫣 May god save us from NYSC stress.”
Another @001chel recounted repeated trials of getting the link, all to no positive result. “Please, I have been trying it for more than an hour and still haven’t gotten any mail or link.”
For @starboyhorlamii, he has been battling with the issue for almost two hours. “Waiting for the confirmation link for the past 2 hours.”
@Mo_sCorner, who has received her confirmation mail, expressed issues with the face capturing. “My face capture is not going. Is it from the NYSC end?”
Also, @Abdulkabir001 noted he’s experiencing the same issue with face capturing. “Capturing is giving us problem here.”

NYSC portal downtime: What applicants can do
While the registration portal is expected to experience slow processing and technical issues on the first day due to traffic, registering early is considered essential.
For PCMs having delays receiving the confirmation mail, alternative options are available. Applicants can try using an alternative email, such as Yopmail, Yahoo Mail or Outlook. Importantly, Outlook and Yopmail have been considered the fastest as of reporting time.

In addition, the following are also important in accessing the portal seamlessly:
1. Applicants must ensure that they fill in an active and correct email address.
2. Having a strong internet connection is also important, as there have been cases where candidates receive emails late due to an unreliable internet connection.
3. Accessing the registration portal with a laptop or mobile device with strong network access is considered an added advantage.
4. Also, switching browsers can help. If you are using Chrome, try Firefox, Safari, or UC browser.
5. Ensure you are not doing this alone. Locate the company of other PCMs to stay updated with the latest information.
5. Another dynamic of the portal is the URL. There are about 4 URLs that all lead to the homepage. The links work based on time, location, and network support.
- Link 1 – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/
- Link2 – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc2/
- Link 3 – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc3/
- Link 4 – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc4/
Meanwhile, reports from the source noted that issues with face capturing are directly from the commission’s end. Therefore, applicants are advised to wait patiently and try again on a timely basis.

With the NYSC registration portal opening for the first time in five months, thousands of graduates nationwide are battling for a spot in Batch B Stream 11. Recall that the registration portal wasn’t opened for both Batch A Stream 11 and Batch B Stream 1, attributed to clearing the backlogs of remobilised PCMs nationwide.
Notably, the ongoing technical issues can also be attributed to traffic from thousands of graduates nationwide trying to apply. During the registration periods, especially on the first day, many applicants try to access the site simultaneously, causing congestion.
Yet, in all of these, NYSC can do better by upgrading its server to accommodate huge numbers of applicants. This will enable the platform to handle increased traffic and minimise downtime during busy periods.
