Though he used cabs at certain points to meet his planned deadline, the symbolic trek was aimed at drawing attention to the power of collective responsibility in building stronger communities.

Zack’s arrival in Ntezi was marked by a vibrant first reception on Sunday evening, featuring traditional Ogene music, dances, and the warm embrace of the community.

Leading the reception were the Ntezi Town Union President, Mr. Oda Amaechi; the Coordinator of Ishielu East Development Centre, Hon. Aloh Franklin Uchenna; the Youth President, Mr. Olung Franklin; and other community leaders.

During this welcome event, the Town Union President presented Zack with a 100,000 naira cash gift, in recognition of his inspiring act and dedication to Ntezi’s growth.

Recognising the significance of the moment, the leadership of the community hosted a larger community reception on Monday, October 13, to officially celebrate the feat.

Speeches were delivered by notable figures including the Town Union President, the Woman Leader, Onwe Loveline, and the Secretary to the Igwe’s Council, Hon. Frank Orji, all praising Zack for his outstanding commitment to the community through Ntezi People’s Forum.

One of the most emotional moments came when the women of Ntezi community gathered to pray for Zack, showering him with blessings and words of encouragement.

In a touching gesture during his speech at the event, Zack Onwe donated the entire ₦100,000 he had received back to the community, pledging it to support the ongoing Ntezi People’s Forum White Board Project, which is providing whiteboards to all primary and secondary schools across Ntezi community.

“This journey is not about me, it’s about showing that every one of us can play a part in building the community we want to see. Ntezi belongs to all of us,” Zack said.

Zack’s trek has now sparked new conversations among Ntezi indigenes at home and in the diaspora about sustained development and community involvement.
