

In furtherance of its commitments to unite its people, and ensure peaceful co- existence among various communities especially ethnic nationalities in Adamawa state, the Gongola People’s Forum ( GPF), an association of all ethnic nationalities in the former Gongola region, have brokered peace among warring communities which pitched Bachama against Chobo tribe, Dong and Bille in Lamurde and Demsa local Government areas of the state.
The crisis have led to lost of lives and properties over the years.
The peace and reconciliations committee initially constituted by the forum to find amicable and lasting solution to the incessant clashes concluded their assignment and submitted their report to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for implementation.
Briefing journalists at Government House Yola Friday, the National president of GPF, Engr.Markus Gundiri, reiterated the commitments of the forum to ensure unity and peaceful co- existence among various communities and ethnic nationalities in the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the report of the committee which he believed would go along way to heal the wounds of the past and restore unity and brotherhood in the affected communities.
According to him, the report is a product of wide consultations with traditional leaders, community and religious leaders, elders and all stakeholders in all the affected communities.
Gundiri further stressed the importance of dialogue in solving disagreements in any human society, noting that violence never benefit anybody but only lead to death.
