Colts vs Titans Prediction & Odds

Colts vs Titans Prediction & Odds

Well, the education of quarterback Cam Ward continues.

So does the rebirth of Daniel Jones.

The Indianapolis Colts have been very impressive thus far. So impressive, in fact, that head coach Shane Steichen is the +550 favorite at BetOnline to be the NFL Coach of the Year.

Not for nuthin’, but Tennessee coach Brian Callahan is priced at +350 to be the first head man fired.

So it is time for the Titans to do something positive here.

They’re 0-2, and that isn’t good. Losing to the Broncos and Rams represented a challenging start to the schedule. But if they thought there was going to be any relief in Week 3, they were wrong.

The Colts ran roughshod over the Broncos last week, gaining 473 yards against a strong defensive unit. And the decision to award Daniel Jones the starting QB job over the youngster Anthony Richardson has proven to be a prescient one.

This AFC South encounter takes place on Sunday at 1 PM ET at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Daniel Jones looks like a new man running the Colts’ offense

Daniel Jones had a good year at the right time for the New York Giants, then got paid big money, and proceeded to lose his job the next year. But now, after a pit stop in Minnesota, he’s started out very fast for the Colts.

A lot of things could be contributing factors. It could be that the wake-up call got to him. Or maybe he’s a late bloomer. Perhaps he has found himself with the right mentor in Steichen. Whatever the reason, it’s effective right now.

Jones has completed 71% of his passes through wins over Miami and Denver, and he’s played free of turnovers, which have been his bane throughout his career.

Is Jonathan Taylor all the way back?

Do you remember when Jonathan Taylor was the scourge of opposing defenses?

As a second-year pro in 2021, he had the NFL with 1811 yards and 18 touchdowns. Then he was slowed down by various things, including injuries. But truth be told, he made a comeback last season, with 1431 yards in 14 games.

Right now he’s sitting with 236 yards on 43 carries, which both led the league coming out of Week 2. That’s 5.5 yards per attempt, and he’s also had the fastest run for any ball-carrier in the NFL since 2020.

The Titans have quite a ways to go

Tennessee was outgained 439-252 last week by the Rams. And it’s become apparent that there are going to be some real growing pains for Cam Ward.

The rookie QB completed 19 of 33 passes for 175 yards and was sacked five times. So the offensive line is still a work in progress. And it’s a big job for OL coach Bill Callahan, who is one of the best of all time in that category.

What’s going to happen in the Colts-Titans game?

As well as the Colts played last week, you must keep in mind that they needed a favorable penalty call on a missed field goal to give them another chance to win it at the gun. So basically that was the difference between winning and losing.

Another thing you may want to remember is that the Titans have dropped nine consecutive games to the number at home. Do we want to buck that with this squad? Nope.
