Collaborate to fish out bad eggs, cleric charges Taraba monarchs

1 week ago 26

Dean Cabinet of Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC), Rev. Philip Micah Dopah, Sunday, urged traditional rulers in Taraba state to collaborate with security agencies to fish out bad eggs in their respective jurisdictions.

Dapah, who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Jalingo, condemned the recent abduction of eight persons and the killing of one at  Jimlari, a community in Lau local government area of the state.

“As royal fathers, you must interface with your people to get first hand information about the activities of criminals in your territory.

“If you are standing along the road here in Taraba,  you see influx of people arriving the state loaded in trucks and you should ask yourself, who harbour them,  a visitor cannot get into a place without someone accommodating him or her,” he said.

He stressed that the resurfacing of kidnappings and sundry criminalities in the recent time called for concern.

He highlighted that all traditional rulers in the state must synergise with government and security agencies to crack down on the miscreants.

He maintained that Tarabans for over eight months have been sleeping with their two years closed without fear of kidnappings.

He expressed the fear that their recent resurfacing was worrisome, noting that government should urgently swift into action.
