Cleric speaks on alleged genocide as imo church stages ordination service


The Senior Pastor Of Heaven Is Real Grace Assembly, Umuodu Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA in Imo state, Senior Pastor Friday Anyanwu, has described international intervention, long term justice and spiritual assistance as the  panacea that would end alleged genocide in Nigeria and advised Christians not to take laws into their hands. 

Pastor Anyanwu made the remark at the church premises, as Christian faithful, clergymen and women as well as members of the church converged to witness the ordination of deacons, deaconesses and ministers of the gospel over the weekend.

The well-attended event which took place at the Church auditorium, amidst pomp and pageantry, showcased lots of activities and witnessed the presence of high profiled dignitaries, and notable gospel ministers, amongst whom is the Presiding Bishop of He Reigns Chapel, Owerri, Bishop Ngozi Durueke Ph.D., and a host of others.  

In his message, Bishop Durueke who spoke in line with the theme: “Your time has come” stressed the need for Christians to be Christlike.

He enjoined Christians to ignore foundational idealogies, embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ, and welcome him for greater manifestations.

In his own words, “God does not have anything to do with your foundation. You need Jesus Christ in your life to sharpen whatever you are doing,” he emphasised. 

Admonishing Christians and the newly ordained ministers, deacons and  deaconesses, Bishop Durueke advised them to beckon on the word “integrity” in the discharge of their assigned duties.

Interracting with newsmen, immediately after the event, the General Overseer of Heaven Is Real Grace Assembly, Pastor Anyanwu expressed satisfaction for the successful outcome of the event.

Speaking on the journey so far, he said, “Before the ministers, deacons and deaconesses were ordained, there were line up of activities, there was a two-day programme titled “Your time has come”.

Highlighting the essence of the ordination, Pastor Anyanwu said, “Ordination is a way of empowering the pastors to do their ministerial work. Some of them have been answering pastors for years, but their time has come, that is what we are celebrating today.” 

Pastor Anyanwu who has been ministering for close to 15 years,  congratulated the newly ordained ministers and seized the opportunity to reel out a brief history of Heaven Is Real Grace Assembly which he acknowledged, started six years ago with the mission and vision of changing lives and winning more souls for Jesus Christ, urging Christians to say “no” to negative influences.  

In their respective speeches, Pastor Obidinma Okechukwu, Deacon Idah David, Pastor David Good luck, Pastor Ifeanyi Akpaka, Pastor Joseph Arisukwu, and other newly ordained church leaders who spoke with reporters, promised to live up to expectations.

The newly ordained minsters include Pastor Chukwuebuka ThankGod Mmadu, Deacon Obinna Lazarus, Deacon Ikechukwu Agoha, Deacon Solomon Eberechi, Deaconess Eunice Obinna and Deaconess Chioma Michael.
