A cleric, Pastor Ugo Nwangoro, on Saturday gave cash gifts to widows to support their businesses, and to pupils and students to pay for their school fees.

Nwangoro, who is the Founder, Daily Confession (DC), an online evangelical and humanitarian ministry, gave these gifts at an event, which had the theme, “Widow Empowerment Programme and Back-To-School Support”.

The event held at the Transformation Christian Centre, Festac, Lagos, is the eight edition of the DC’s outreach to the less-privileged, which coincided with its Founder, Nwangoro’s birthday anniversary.

The centre gave some widows N50,000, while some others got N100, 000 to support their businesses.

Primary school pupils got N20,000.and students N30,000 respectively to support their education.

Speaking at the event, Nwangoro stressed the importance of compassion and charity, saying that 28 widows and 21 students benefited from the DC’s humanitarian scheme.

According to him, the quarterly gift presentation has been empowering the beneficiaries right from its inception, eight years ago.

“The seed faith, which comes from members’ contributions to lift others out of poverty, has an anointing of multiplication when properly utilised.

“We are going to be monitoring beneficiaries to ensure they grow in their businesses and to return glory to God,” he said.

The cleric said that recipients, selected from vulnerable backgrounds, were the focus of the body to fulfill the gospel.

He offered prayers for the widows, the less privileged in the society and the nation for God’s blessings and protection.

Some of the beneficiaries include Master Sabi Kabiru, a four-year-old son of a slain police officer from Satellite Town; six-year-old Master James Are, and twelve-year-old David Zannu.

Prosper Simon, Wisdom Ezechi and others are also beneficiaries.

The organisation, Daily Confessions, has grown its membership by an online daily confession of people and testimonies, and currently has members all over the world. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
