Clark, Voice Of Niger Delta, Gone – Comrade Francis

The passing of Senator Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a towering figure in Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape, has left a deep void in the hearts of the Niger Delta people.

Hon. Comrade Francis Obule,( JP )Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Delta State on Political Matters, in his Press release described the loss of Dr. Clark as “the fall of a giant oak in the forest of national leadership.” In his tribute, he emphasized the unparalleled impact the elder statesman had on the political consciousness and economic empowerment of the Niger Delta people.

“Senator Chief Dr. E.K. Clark was more than a leader; he was a voice, a movement, and a guiding light for the oppressed people of the Niger Delta. His unwavering stance on resource control, true federalism, and equity made him an icon beyond the region. He was an encyclopedia of political wisdom, always willing to share his knowledge for the greater good of Nigeria,” said Hon. Obule.

Continuing the statement noted: “Late Pa. Clark, was an astute lawyer, fearless activist, and relentless advocate for good governance, dedicated his life to shaping policies that promoted regional development. As a former Minister of Information and a key political strategist, his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy were far-reaching. His advocacy for a just and fair nation, where all ethnic groups can enjoy equitable representation, remains one of his enduring legacies.”

Hon Obule the Senior Governor Aide added: ” The passage of Pa Clark is particularly painful to those who relied on his counsel and wisdom in tackling regional and national challenges. “He was not just a leader but a father to the people of the Niger Delta, a bridge-builder, and a champion of national unity. We will forever cherish his contributions to our struggle.”

With emphasis, Obule the JP remarked: “l sincerely extend my condolences to Pa. Clark’s immediate family, the Ijaw nation, the people of the Niger Delta, and the Delta State Government. As Nigeria mourns the departure of this fearless statesman, his legacies will continue to inspire future generations.The voice of the Niger Delta may have gone silent, but his echoes will forever resonate in the corridors of justice and equity.” Obule concluded.
