Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has issued professional licenses to 75 members of the Institute to enable them offer tax services in the most professional way.

During the presentation ceremony, 16th President of the Institute, Mr. Samuel Agbeluyi, charged the members to pay proper attention to things that matter and never be involved in any form of malfeasance.

“Today you are empowered to practice without fear or favor after passing through the rigorous process. As you go along, don’t forget that the Institute is watching you. So you must pay attention to things that matter,” he said.

Agbeluyi admonished them to prioritize continuous reading and doing research as the business world keeps evolving. “You must not fail to update yourself through studying and research if you must develop. You also need to collaborate with those ahead of you, because you can’t get along” he advised.

The Chairman, Taxation Standard & Practice Monitoring Committee of CITN, Dr. (Mrs) Ruth Arokoyo, urged the Licensees to uphold the virtues of honesty, accountability, transparency and probity.

“You must beware of ethical dilemma. Ensure proper documentations and don’t be afraid of the big names in the industry. You must strive for excellence and ensure the confidentiality of clients are guaranteed” she added.
