Chukwueze brace, Iwobi goal not enough as Fulham fall 5-4 to Man City

Nigerian internationals Samuel Chukwueze and Alex Iwobi were on the scoring chart as Manchester City survived Fulham scare in a thrilling nine-goal encounter at Craven Cottage.

Chukwueze sparked Fulham’s second-half revival with a brilliant brace, while Iwobi added a composed finish as the Cottagers mounted an extraordinary fightback from 5–1 down. Despite their late surge, City held firm to deny Fulham a famous comeback.

Fulham came agonisingly close to completing one of the greatest escapes in Premier League history.

Their relentless push for an equaliser fell inches short after Josko Gvardiol produced a crucial goal-line clearance in stoppage time to deny Josh King deep into the eight added minutes.

Erling Haaland hit a major milestone in the contest, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals. The Norwegian opened the scoring in the 17th minute, ending a brief three-game drought.

His landmark goal, his 15th in 14 league matches this season, set the tone early for Manchester City.
Haaland also set up City’s second, sliding a precise pass into the path of Tijjani Reijnders, who lifted the ball over Bernd Leno to double the lead.

Despite Fulham’s spirited late charge, Manchester City held on and moved closer to league leaders Arsenal.

Fulham, meanwhile, remain six points clear of the relegation zone but have played a game more than the teams below them.
