Introduction

In March 2025, the Supreme Egbesu Assembly, SEA, published an Open Letter to Ms Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, president of the European Commission.

The SEA condemned the illegal and undemocratic manner Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari signed away Ijaw gas fields to King Mohammed VI of Morocco through the instrumentality of the Nigerian-Morocco Gas Pipeline, NMGP.

Morocco influenced Buhari’s election in 2015. The following year Buhari and King Mohammed VI signed the NMGP without recourse to the National Assembly, the Ijaw National Congress, INC, or the Niger Delta host communities. Then in 2017, Buhari looked the other way while the North African Morocco applied as full member of the Economic Community of West African State, ECOWAS.

Today, Morocco negotiates ECOWAS regional security with the American-owned African Command, Africom; and the NMGP with the European Union. That was the second time in known history Moroccan Arabs imposed their suzerainty over black West Africa. The first time was in the 16th Century when Morocco defeated the black Songhai Empire in the Battle of Tondibi in 1591.

In Paragraphs 13, 14 and 15 of the Open Letter (see Kabowei Akamande and Dr. Felix Tuodolo’s “Nigerian-Morocco Gas Pipeline is Crime Against Ijaws of the Niger Delta: Open Letter to Ms Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, President of European Commission.” Vanguard, 25th March 2025 and nigeriaworld.com, 26th March 2025), the SEA observes that Christian genocide in Nigeria at the hands of Islamist terrorists went hand in hand with the NMGP and illegal mining of solid minerals by the same perpetrators:

13. Since the arrival of this Trojan Horse (the NMGP), Arabs from the Sahel invaded rural Nigeria in the name of ECOWAS cooperation, inflicting unprecedented violence on defenseless blacks. We cite these instances:

(a) Under the Buhari government, 20 farm settlements were razed in Eha-Amufu communities of Enugu State and over 123 Igbos killed by Arab militias who joined local Fulani herders in attacking Igbos (see “Three Enugu Farmers Killed in Renewed herdsmen attacks,” Punch, 23rd November 2024).

(b) Arab militias invaded Yakurr Local Government Area, LGA, of Cross River State in search of solid minerals (see “Armed Malians, Mauritanians, Others Invade Cross River Communities for Natural Resources,” Daily Post, 18th December 2024).

(c) Over 300 Arab militias killed 30 blacks in Benue State (see “How suspected foreign marauders invaded Benue, killed 30 – Community leader,” Punch, 26th November 2024).

(d) Fulani herdsmen killed Ijaw fishermen and farmers in Bayelsa and Delta states (see “Armed herders terrorise Bayelsa, Delta farmers, Fishermen,” Vanguard, 6th February 2024. If Arab terrorists can use vehicles to crush white women and their children in Europe, you can imagine the carnage they wreak in Ijawland. Darfur is here. Ijaws must form militias and defend their communities against militant North African Arab expansionists actively supported by a section of the Nigerian military to kill ethnic minority Nigerians.

14. Here is the big picture: In its 1989 Abuja Declaration, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, stated only Muslims must rule Nigeria. Morocco is signatory to this Islamist declaration. The 2015 decision to rig out the Ijaw-born President Goodluck Jonathan in favour of Buhari was taken in Morocco. Equally so, the 2023 decision to rig out the Igbo-born Peter Obi in favour of Tinubu was taken in Saudi Arabia. Jonathan and Obi are Christians while Buhari and Tinubu Muslims.

15. On 10th November 2024, Tinubu attended the Arab-Islamic Summit in Saudi Arabia even though Nigeria is neither an Arab nor Islamic state. This summit was midwifed by the OIC to fast-track the NMGP; but the Israeli/Hamas War was fronted as ruse for his presence. Tinubu returned from the summit and announced policy change prioritizing the pipeline under ECOWAS regional infrastructural development (see “Nigeria pays ECOWAS N85bn community levy, boosts regional cooperation,” BusinessDay December 15, 2024).

The SEA is vindicated when American President Donald Trump on 1st November 2025 made known his intention to invade Nigeria and halt Christian genocide unless Tinubu stopped it. Having convincingly provided proofs of Christian genocide above, this article aims to achieve two goals: One, to examine the history of Nigerian Islamisation, hauntingly celebrated in the Muslim World as “Crawling Revolution.” Two, to establish the nexus between Christian Genocide and resource capture by militant Islamist expansionists and terrorists; using the NMGP as case study. In all this, the Nigeria military is exposed as complicit.

Crawling Revolution 1969-2025

Dr. Jesophine Soboyejo traces Nigerian Islamisation to 1969 when General Yakubu Gowon introduced Nigeria as Observer to the Organization of Islamic Conference (known today as Organization of Islamic Cooperation), OIC. Nothing else happened till Buhari came to power in a military coup in 1984 and began the formal registration process. In 1986 Buhari’s successor, General Ibrahim Babangida, made available his presidential jet to fly His Petroleum Minister, Rilwan Lukman, and a handful of Islamists to Fez, Morocco, where Nigeria was illegally registered as a full member of the OIC.

The OIC immediately began to wield supranational powers over Nigerian internal matters when it issued its OIC Abuja Declaration of 1989 to the effect that only Muslims should rule Nigeria or hold strategic posts in the military. It is duplicitous of anyone to remain silent when the OIC dictated Nigerian political and military compositions only to start crying wolf when Trump attempts to intervene militarily. As much as space will allow, we shall examine how the OIC Islamised Nigeria by Islamising the 1999 Constitution, Central Bank and military.

Crawling Revolution is developed by Middle East Arabists and Islamists. It refers to the gradual process of turning a secular state into an Islamic one by surreptitiously making its key institutions Sharia-compliant over a long period of time, at least 20-50 years. Crawling Revolution is the direct opposite of Spontaneous Revolution, but it still thrives on selective assassination, infiltration, falsification, deception and indoctrination. It took the OIC 27 years, 1969-1986, to move Nigeria from Observer Status to full membership with minimal protests from Nigerian Christians. That is Crawling Revolution in situ.

Islamisation of 1999 Constitution

Uma O. Eleazu, retired university teacher and elder statesman, was in 1998 drafted by General Abdulsalami Abubakar to chair the South-South sub-Committee of the Constitution Debating Committee, CDC, mandated to take to the grassroots the General Sani Abacha-written document that was eventually forced on Nigeria as the extant 1999 Constitution. Eleazu observed that after the sub-committees dispatched to the six Geo-Political Zones submitted their reports within the three weeks deadline, General Abubakar disbanded the CDC. He then handed their reports and the Abacha constitution to Professor Niki Tobi and Professor A. Yakudu who were experts in Islamic Law.

Between Abubakar, Tobi and Yakudu, Sharia Law was inserted into the Abacha Constitution before being released to Nigeria as the 1999 Constitution. The insertion of Sharia law into the 1999 constitution by General Abubakar, Eleazu claims, was “To ensure the ultimate replacement of all Western Forms of legal and Judicial system with the Sharia in all (OIC) member nations” (see Uma O. Eleazu “Nigeria As I See It: Reflections on the Challenge of Leadership,” Green and Cherished Ltd, 2020, Pp. 221-222). Typically, Eleazu refused to say all he knew on how Sharia found its way into our constitution. But he inferred deception in the actions of Abubakar who made sure that Sharia was inserted only after, and not before, the Abacha constitution was debated by Nigerian Christians.

But it was Dr. Josephine O. Soboyejo who broke the taboo wide open by saying what Eleazu was loath to. To start with, she agreed with Eleazu that the Islamic Canon Law (Sharia) was inserted (not enacted) in the Nigerian Constitution in Sections 200, 260-264, creating a dual ideology. In her view, the 1999 Constitution that should have united Nigerians paradoxically created the legal basis for the killing of Nigerian Christians by Islamist terrorists, Fulani herdsmen and militant Arab expansionists:

The dual Ideology is more evident in sections 1 and 6 of the Nigerian Constitution. Section 1 states that the Constitution is supreme, higher than any other law, but paragraph 1 of section 38 on freedom of expression says you are free to practice any religion of your choice. The same Constitution has Sharia in Section 6, subsection 5F & G. Sharia says if you practice any other religion apart from Islam, you will die. This has become calamitous for Nigerian Christians. Christians in northern Nigeria, especially in the middle belt region, are becoming extinct due to the frequent attacks on their persons and on the churches. These myriad attacks come from fundamental Muslims like Boko Haram Terrorist Groups; Fulani Herdsmen, also known as Miyetti Allah. Their attacks result in loss of lives and properties of faithful Christians (see Dr Josephine O. She destroys Nigeria’s pretense to secularism advancing her alternate statistics showing in the 1999 Constitution, “Sharia is mentioned in the Constitution seventy-three (73) times, Islam is mentioned twenty-eight (28) times, Muslim is mentioned ten (10) times, and Grand Khadijah is mentioned fifty-four (54) times. This same Constitution has no mention of Christ, Christian, or Christianity.”

Capitalising on the duality of the constitution, the twelve Muslim-majority northern states immediately adopted Sharia as their civil and criminal law by 1999 ending. The states are Zamfara, Kano, Sokoto, Katsina, Bauchi Borno, Jigawa, Kebbi, Yobe, Kaduna, Niger and Gombe. Their adoption of Sharia violated Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution that states, “The Government of the Federation or of a State shall not adopt any religion as State Religion.” To ensure full Sharia enforcement, the states created the Sharia Commission, Zakat Commission and the Hisbah Police. These outfits stoked the embers of Christian genocide during the 2000 and 2002 Sharia Riots that claimed three thousand Christians lives.

Between 21st-25th February 2000, Islamists massacred Christians in Kaduna State. Some 2000 Christians, mainly Judeo-Christians of the Igbo ethnic group of the South East resident in Kaduna, were killed in the riots. The Southern Kaduna Elders’ Consultative Forum had cause to issue a statement on 25th November 2002, following another Christian genocide in November 2002, that Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi was “executing an Islamic Sharia agenda against the Christians and Southern Kaduna people who in the first instance overwhelmingly voted him into power…. The implementation of Islamic Sharia as signed into law in Kaduna State has turned the Christians and other non-Muslims in Kaduna State in a ‘House of War.’ We therefore totally refuse to accept it as such.”

On November 12, 2025, France honoured the 132 people killed and hundreds who were injured by Islamist terrorists attack on November 13, 2015 in Paris. Compare that with the deafening silence from the Nigerian Government on the thousands of Christian lives lost to terror attacks.

Islamisation of Central Bank

In 2011, the Central Bank illegally made banking in Nigeria Sharia-compliant. Dr. Soboyejo observes, “Islamic banking is an integral part of the OIC, and since Nigeria is a full member, it then becomes imperative that the Country aligns itself with the dictates of the OIC. The CBN fostered, in secular Nigeria, a full-fledged Sharia system in Islamic banking, in which all activities are consistent with the principles of Islamic law and its practical application, as developed by the OIC.”

And what is the aim of bringing the Nigerian banking system under the illegal OIC-designed Islamic banking? She explains, “Islamic banking is one of the tools of the Islamist Jihadist movements to achieve the primary goal of weakening the non-Muslim world. The Primary goals of the Islamic Bank include… Ensuring linkage to global Islamic banks in the Arab world for the purpose of funding Islamic Expansionism, a subtle Arab Colonization.”

Citizen Bolaji O. Akinyemi establishes the link between Islamic banking and the total take-over of Nigerian economy by Muslims. He reminds President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima that by implementing the controversial “Nigeria National Halal Economy Strategy: A Pathway to a $1 Trillion Economy,” their government had, ipso facto, outlawed and made illegal businesses owned by Nigerian Christians:

“Halal” is an Arabic word. It means “permissible,” “allowed,” “lawful.” Under Islam. Under Sharia. Anything not Halal is “Haram”- forbidden. Halal goes beyond food. It covers: how animals are slaughtered, whether alcohol is present, whether a business deal involves interest (riba), whether a transaction looks like gambling or manipulation, how modesty and morality are expressed in public-facing products.

In other words, a Halal economy is an economy whose goods, services, banking, logistics, branding, tourism, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and trade practices are all filtered through Islamic compliance rules (see Citizen Bolaji O. Islamisation of Nigerian Military

In October 2023, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi labeled as “satanic” the action of Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Wike’s sin was hosting the Israeli Ambassador Michael Freeman in a federal building. Gumi claimed the visit was Haram and anti-Islam. Gumi further decreed that Nigerian Christians in the military should never be allowed to bear arms in line with the OIC Abuja Declaration of 1989.

Then in October 2024, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Nigerian Minister of Defence, hosted in a federal building in Abuja the Saudi Arabian Major General Mohammed bin Saleem Al-Moghidi. There was no protest from any quarters and no vituperations. An elated Abubakar told Nigerians that he had to host the Arab because Federal Government was interested in combating terrorism in the West Africa and African region by supporting the Saudi Arabian-induced Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Centre (IMCTC).

Al-Moghidi himself reminded all that Nigeria and Saudi Arabia had an existing bilateral relationship and the purpose of his visit was to strengthen that relationship by way of intelligence sharing and training.

Three points are worth your attention here: One, Wike received the Jew called Freeman from Israel in a federal building and was threatened by Islamists and Gumi. But Abubakar received the Arab called Al-Moghidi from Saudi Arabia inside a federal building and no Priest, Pastor, prelate or potentate threatened him.

This can only be so because Nigeria is an Islamic State. Two, the IMCTC induced the establishment of the Sharia-compliant Nigerian Army School of Islamic Affairs; effectively creating an empire within an empire. Three, is the unhealthy influence Saudi Arabia wields on the Nigerian military not worth counterbalancing with a French or Israeli military base for Nigerian Christians?

Here are additional proofs that Nigerian Military is completely Islamised: One, on 28th November 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu went on state visit to France and upon his return the Arewa Consultative Forum and Coalition of Northern Groups, CNGs, threatened regime change except Tinubu issued a public statement assuring them that not an inch of Northern Nigeria would be given to President Emmanuel Macron of France to build military base. Tinubu issued a public statement. The CNGs could have acted scripts written by Islamist generals.

Two, Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi was illegally arrested, imprisoned, threatened and dismissed from service for revealing that Islamist military generals killed Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, former Chief of Army Staff, COAS. Attahiru’s plane was rigged with bombs and the midair explosion that killed him was witnessed by General Ali-Keffi.

Three, before his assassination, Attahiru uncovered the identities of terror financiers in the military.

Investigation shows it was President Buhari who weaponised Sharia by illegally taking Nigeria into the IMCTC, according to Dr. Soboyejo:

Late President Buhari, in December 2015, without respect to Section 10 of the Constitution, as well as to the sensitivity of Christians that constitute half of the Nigerian Population, led the Country to join the Saudi Arabia-initiated Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC). There have been other actions since then that border on the adoption of Islam as a state religion.

The aim of Military Sharia, according to her, is to ensure the “Violation of the Federal Character Principle in the Constitution in the appointment of mostly Muslims to head Security Units in the nation.” In September 2025 researchers at the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) decried the tendency by Nigerian government appointing Muslims to top military positions in the country’s South-East region that is 95 percent Judeo-Christian. The trend, the Christian-based NGO says, robs South-Easterners their sense of belonging, confidence and trust in matters of security and safety of their lives.

What worries Intersociety was the abject lack of neutrality among the military authorities who openly “romance with jihadist bandits and their allies in the North;” while employing iron fist against defenceless Judeo-Christian Igbos in the South East, “The same military that romances and pacifies jihadist bandits and allied others in the North, is found to have turned around and unleashed the East with maximum force and brutalities including incessant raids and confiscation of ‘self-defense, gaming and hunting weapons’, classified in the country’s written laws such as Firearms Act of 2004 as un-prohibited firearms” (see Agnes Aineah’s Research Entity Decries Unfairness as Muslims Head Military Posts in Nigeria’s Predominantly Christian Regions,” Aciafrica: https://www.aciafrica.org/news/17815/research-entity-decries-unfairness-as-muslims-head-military-posts-in-nigerias-predominantly-christian-regions. Islamisation of Natural Resources: the NMGP

In 2016, Buhari entered into agreement with King Mohammed VI of Morocco to build the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, NMGP. This project was never approved by the Nigerian parliament. In December 2021, Nigeria and Morocco signed the pipeline feasibility study agreement. Final Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, was hastily signed in 2022 in Morocco by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL, Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, ONHYM, of Morocco and the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, countries. Tellingly, ECOWAS was roped in to divert attention.

The NMGP measures 5600 kilometers from Brass Island in Ijawland to Dakhla in Morocco. From Morocco it will link the existing Maghreb European Pipeline, MEP; expanding to 7000 kilometers to Spain in Europe. Its configuration is 48 Inch X 5,300 Km (offshore from Brass to Dakhla in Morocco) and 56 X 1, 700 Km (onshore from Dakhla in Morocco to MEP). With thirteen Compressor Stations, the pipeline route covers Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, the Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco and Spain. Expecting armed resistance to the pipeline in future, the promoters of this resource capture decided to submerge the pipeline under the sea from Bayelsa to Morocco to avert sabotage by aggrieved blacks.

The estimated cost of the project is $25 billion to be funded by the Islamic Development Bank, IDB. But in truth, the billions of dollars being illegally siphoned to the IDB by the NNPCL under Islamic banking is the real source of funding for this project. When completed, the NMGP will deliver 3 billion Standard Cubic Feet, scf, of gas per day from Ijawland to Europe through Morocco where Liquified Natural Gas, LNG, plants will be built to provide thousands of direct employments for young Moroccans. In truth, the NMGP is never meant to reach Spain. It will end in Morocco where European ships will load. What about our own Ijaw graduates? Why not build the plants here to create jobs for Nigerian graduates and let European ships come to Nigeria to load?

Apart from the NMGP, there is also the illegal Trans-Sahara Gas Pipeline, TSGP, to run from Warri in the Niger Delta to Europe through Algeria. The TSGP will carry 30 billion scf of gas yearly from Nigeria. When you add the 3 billion scf of gas to be carried daily by the NMGP to the 30 billion scf to be borne yearly by the TSGP, the self-serving intention of the facilitators becomes apparent. Nigerian resources are being signed away to Arabs in North Africa. By the time Arabic is made the dominant language and ECOWAS common currency headquartered in Fez, Morocco, it would be too late for Nigerian Christians to cry as the proverbial head is already severed.

In paragraphs 16, the SEA stated, inter alia, why Ijaws are stiffly opposed to the NMGP: “The NMGP is genocide against Ijaws by economic means. It will enslave and kill Ijaws for the next millennia that gas will power human civilisation; having placed our economy in Moroccan hands to exploit. Not America, not Germany nor any self-respecting people will accept this fate reserved for Ijaws. Morocco’s territorial ambition of hijacking our gas will definitely lead to unending major supply disruptions by aggrieved Ijaws, rest assured”

Conclusion

The UN has two definitions for genocide. The first definition is when state and non-state actors physically exterminate a targeted ethnic or religious group with the full complicity of the political leadership. The second definition is where the targeted victims are not killed but their sources of living, natural resources, monies, investments and habitats are destroyed or confiscated. It is a question of time before such victims fall prey to avoidable diseases, violent crimes and crushing poverty.

Ijaws of the Niger Delta are the direct victims of state-sponsored genocide consistent with the two definitions; as portrayed in the introductory part of this treatise. They are endangered by seven decades of oil spills, aquatic and terrestrial devastations.

It logically follows that even if other Christians in Nigeria are unwelcoming of Trumps’ military intervention, the Ijaw nation under the auspices of the Supreme Egbesu Assembly and other well-meaning faiths will support American military intervention in Ijaw territories aimed at stopping the killing of Ijaws by alien Islamist terrorists and their local foot soldiers.

The liberation of Nigerian Christians must go hand in hand with the liberation of their natural resources captured by the Islamic State West African Province, ISWAP, IDB, IMCTC, Boko Haram, Morroccans, Mauritanians, Algerians and the OIC. When you pipe away 3 billion standard cubic feet of gas daily with 48-inch pipe from Ijawland to Moroccans, what will the grandchildren of our great grandchildren survive on by the year 2200?

That is a genocide too ghastly to contemplate. The Ijaw oil and gas resources can never, and will never, belong to Morocco, the OIC, IDB, or what have you. For us Ijaw people, ”Aluta continua, victória éscerta”.
